This is an excellent machine. The picture quality provided is amazing - though this is expected with all DVD Players.
What really makes it stand out from the crowd is the sound. Watch a recent movie with a nice Dolby 5.1 soundtrack (try The Matrix, The Mummy or Lethal Weapon 4) and the beauty of this Sony product kicks in. You really feel like you're in the movie. The base is awesome!
Plus the whole package is beautifully presented in chrome, making this top to bottom one of the best players on the market.

This system is great for a small room , with only 180 watts of power it will not shake the windows, but for less than $400 it is a heckuva buy

Its excellent. I've had it for 6 months and the sound and picture quality is superb.
My pioneer 515 was just as good but lacked the dts & dolby digital decoder.

I've owned this product now for almost a year. The sound and picture display are excellent, and I have had no problems playing DVD, VCD or audio-CD's. It is true that the DAV S300 does not support CD-R's, but it certainly supports CD-RW. Excellent value for money - Gladiator with DTS shows off the true quality of this home theater system.

I bought the system yesterday, and i was owner of an lg dvd hooked on a denon system (plain stereo no surround) and it gave me real joy and pleasure and everyone was really impressed. Now i have the sony, and i hooked it on for a test, but i was first dissapointed. I hooked on the other system again and suddenly i notised the diverence, actually i had to get used to this sound, the sony let me hear things i never heard before. I like it, i am not yet overly impressed, but i think i will be in a while, the only thing is that i find it a bit to much bass in the sound and i miss the sharp peaks of sound, but overall a 3 what could become a 4.

The Sony is a great "all-in-one" product. I liked it because it didn't overpower the room in size or watts. some may prefer a more powerful unit but I just hooked it up to my stereo to get volume when I needed it. The picture is perfect.

I bought this in for Xmas and I think it is pure unadulterated sex, I recomended it to 2 of my friends & they can't stop recomending it toeveryone they meet! I give it 4 out of 5, as it doesn't play cdr/cdrw.

I bought this product a week ago and I must say it is wicked! Just watching Gladiator on it now & I'm really enjoying it . The sound quality is absolutely fantastic & the picture is really good too. Next thing to buy now is a really big TV & I'll never go to the cinema again :)

I brought the sony davs300 for my husband for xmas and I must say I really love it. I brought it for him, but our entire family really enjoys it. The sound is outstanding, and all the features are great. I would tell anyone who is looking for a dvd to purchase this one. For the money it is well worth the price. I read reviews on the Internet before I brought this sony dvd and I asked to myself is these people real or just sony trying to get people to buy this product, but believe me I am a customer and I love this dvd. The dvd is not only good to look at but it is loaded with a lot of features. As I stated before the sound is outstanding. Well, I could go on and on, but I just want people to know if you are looking to a great dvd get this one sony davs300.
