I have owned the MDS-JE330 for quite some time, and think it is an excellent product for the money.
The ONLY disadvantage to it is, when recording to the recording deck, the audio sound level input needs to be controlled by your input source rather than by the recording deck itself.
It is very limited in its recording sound level controls. It does not use a strong enough signal to make a good recording when used alone. I use the output on my amp to do this and it works quite well.
You have absolute control this way. Just watch the lights!
