Cambridge Soundworks Tower III

The Cambridge SoundWorks' Tower III is the latest in a long series of very popular high-performance, high-value loudspeakers designed by Henry Kloss. The first in that series, the AR-1 in 1952, was the first good-sounding bookshelf loudspeaker. The next was the KLH Model Six, the dominant speaker model of the '60s. The third was the Advent Loudspeaker, which was by most measures, the best-selling quality speaker of the 70s.

All three of these speakers were wildly popular because they offered naturally balanced, wide-range sound at a very reasonable price. We believe Tower III will be equally popular by combining that natural, wide-range sound with a very lifelike dynamic presence — at an extremely competitive price.

Like previous two-way designs by Henry Kloss, the key to Tower III is a simple, affordable design, executed with painstaking attention to details.

Tower III uses a wide-dispersion soft-dome tweeter and a single 8" woofer. It has been meticulously "voiced" by Henry Kloss for superb octave-to-octave tonal balance and precise stereo imaging. Like the more expensive models in the Tower series, it combines natural, wide-range sound (including extended deep bass) with high sensitivity and outstanding dynamic range from a generously-proportioned cabinet. This dynamic range lends Tower III a subtle-but-noticeable lifelike presence usually associated with high-efficiency studio monitors. But unlike the typical studio monitor, Tower III does not give up the wide range and natural, realistic sound that is the hallmark of Henry Kloss designs. It gives you musical accuracy and spine-tingling dynamic range.

Its comparatively high sensitivity makes Tower III ideal for use with moderately powered amplifiers and receivers, while its high quality construction makes it suitable for use with any home amplifier or receiver.

Tower III features removable black grilles and fully-finished cabinets, to permit operation without grilles in place. It also includes gold-plated binding posts. Magnetically shielded and finished in Black Ash vinyl, Tower III is ideal for use in the best home theater systems.

Tower III is covered by Cambridge SoundWorks' industry-best 10 year parts and labor warranty.

Speakers are priced individually; for a pair, please order a quantity if two.
